FAQ

Questions we expect you to ask

Including the ones most laboratories in this category leave off their websites.

How much does testing cost?

Every rate is published on the pricing page. Three packages: Essential $299 (identity + purity, always together), Complete $349 (adds net content and water) and Advanced $425 (adds residual solvents, adulterant screen and pH). Nothing is sold below $299 CAD / $239 USD. Add-ons like endotoxins, sterility and heavy metals attach on top and are priced openly. Volume discounts apply automatically at ten and twenty samples.

What is your turnaround time?

Seven business days as standard, counted from the day we receive and accession your sample — not from the day you order. Priority is three business days at +30%. Express is forty-eight hours at +70%, available on identity, purity and net content. Compendial sterility under USP <71> always takes fourteen calendar days and is never accelerated.

Where do I send my samples?

Axiom Bio Labs, Montréal, Québec, Canada. You get the full address, a printable packing slip and your order number the moment you complete checkout. Write the order number on the outside of the package and put the slip inside.

Do you accept samples from the United States?

Yes — it is one of the reasons this laboratory exists. You ship as exporter of record, we clear the sample into Canada under temporary importation, and sample remainder is destroyed on completion rather than returned. Results come back to you as data, which crosses no border. We handle the Canadian side of the paperwork.

How much sample do I need?

The order form calculates it exactly from the tests you select and shows you the vial count before you check out. As a rule: 1–2 mg for identity and purity, 5 mg for the standard chemistry set, and an extra vial each for microbiology and for heavy metals. Lyophilised, sealed and crimped gives the cleanest result.

Why do you need more than one vial?

Chemistry, microbiology and elemental analysis run on physically separate benches with different contamination controls. One vial cannot be in three rooms. Sending the calculated number of vials is what keeps your turnaround on schedule.

How do I get my results?

As a PDF certificate by email and in your client portal simultaneously. Every certificate carries a unique eight-character access code and a QR code linked to a permanent public record.

Can my customers verify a certificate themselves?

Yes, and that is the point. Public verification with no account required, on our verification page or by scanning the QR code on the certificate. Business accounts also get a verification page branded with their own identity and bulk QR downloads for product labelling.

Is the vial photograph really on the certificate?

Yes. Every sample is photographed at accessioning, before any vial is opened, and that image is printed on the COA. It ties the document to the physical object and makes a forged certificate considerably harder to pass off. See the sample certificate.

Can I submit anonymously?

Yes, at no charge. Your name does not appear on the certificate or in the public register. The analysis is identical either way — we do not know whose sample it is while we are running it.

What does a purity number actually tell me?

Purity by HPLC-UV is a percentage of total peak area at a given wavelength. It tells you how much of what the detector can see is your target compound. It does not tell you biological activity, it does not detect species that do not absorb at that wavelength, and on its own it does not confirm identity — that needs mass spectrometry. Anyone selling you purity alone as proof of quality is overselling it. That is exactly why our base service includes both.

What happens if a result fails specification?

We report it. We do not re-run a sample hoping for a better number and we do not release a certificate that omits a failing result. If you want to investigate a failure, order a fresh test on fresh material and we run it as a new sample.

Do you provide raw chromatograms?

Every certificate includes the chromatograms and method parameters. The full raw data package — integration tables and spectra as the instrument produced them — is a $45 add-on.

What will you not test?

HGH and somatropin, hCG, hMG, testosterone and its esters, other anabolic hormones, gonadotropins and botulinum toxin. We also do not accept scheduled substances or precursors under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act — import permits for controlled material carry a forty-five day lead time, which cannot coexist with a seven-day service. Our order form screens sample names live and stops you before you ship.

Are you accredited?

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation through the Standards Council of Canada is in progress. We publish our status honestly on the quality page, and the day accreditation is granted we will publish the certificate number and a link to the accreditor's public directory. We will not claim a credential we do not hold.

Do you do anything besides peptides?

A great deal. Cannabis potency and compliance panels, workplace and forensic drug testing, water testing from a single lead result to a full well profile, food safety and nutrition labelling, supplements and cosmetics, toxicology to OECD protocols, and environmental and materials work. The full list is on the services page.

How do I pay?

Card, Interac e-Transfer for Canadian clients, card-on-file for approved business accounts, or net-15 invoicing for volume accounts. Card payments are processed by Pay2Bridge — card data never touches an Axiom server. Your card is authorised at checkout and charged when your samples are accessioned.

Is a COA from Axiom a licence to sell a product?

No. A certificate of analysis states what our instruments measured in the material you sent us on the dates we tested it. It is not a marketing authorisation, a Health Canada product licence, a DIN or NPN, an FDA clearance, or any form of approval to sell, distribute or administer anything.
