Refused, unclaimed & abandoned imports

The small consignments nobody else will collect.

When an import is refused or goes unclaimed and the contents were never properly established, it becomes somebody’s problem to store indefinitely. We take those consignments — at any weight — identify what is actually in them, and return a certificate of destruction with the analysis attached.

Why this service exists

Small lots are refused because they are unprofitable, not because they are difficult.

The gap

Too small to be worth anyone’s while

Coordination through the federal seized-property route carries a 300 kg minimum. A box of vials is nowhere near it, so the small consignments sit. We take them at any weight.

The problem underneath

Nobody knows what is in the box

A parcel refused at the border rarely carries a reliable declaration. Material that cannot be identified cannot be classified, manifested or lawfully destroyed. That is an analytical problem, and it is what we do every day.

The answer

One call, one file, one certificate

Identification, transport, destruction and documentation handled as a single file, with the analysis done in our own laboratory rather than sent out.

How it works

Four steps, one file.

You call us

One parcel or a pallet, any weight. We confirm collection in a few business days — not a monthly route you have to wait for.

We establish what it is

Unidentified material cannot be lawfully classified or manifested. We run LC–MS identity and HPLC purity and issue a written characterization report naming the compound. This is the step that unblocks everything downstream, and it is the reason we exist.

It is destroyed at a permitted facility

Transport and destruction are carried out under the authorizations that apply to the material, at a permitted destruction facility.

You get the paperwork

Characterization report, manifest trail and certificate of destruction, referenced to your file number. A complete chain of custody, in one package.

No weight minimum. No monthly contract.

Most disposal pricing is built around routes and monthly service agreements, which is exactly why a single ten-pound parcel gets turned away. Ours is built around the call-out.

$200Minimum service call, per collection. The only fixed charge there is.
No minimumOn weight or volume. Ten pounds is a real job, not a rounding error.
No monthly feeNo standing agreement, no route commitment. You call when you have something.

Destruction is charged by weight and by material class on top of the service call, and quoted before collection — never estimated afterwards. Analysis is priced from $349 CAD and is usually the difference between a consignment that can be manifested and one that cannot.

Scope

What we take, and what we will not.

We accept

  • Peptides, research compounds and unidentified powders
  • Pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products refused entry
  • Supplements, cosmetic actives and topical preparations
  • Diluents, solvents, buffers and laboratory consumables
  • Expired, damaged or out-of-specification stock
  • Consignments with no reliable declaration of contents

We do not accept

  • Substances scheduled under the CDSA — referred to the RCMP
  • Explosives, ammunition and pyrotechnics
  • Radioactive material
  • Compressed gas cylinders
  • Biological or infectious substances

If a consignment turns out to contain a scheduled substance once analysed, it stops with us and is referred. We will tell you immediately.

Where we are, stated plainly. Axiom Bio Labs is an independent analytical laboratory. Our own Québec authorizations for the transport and storage of hazardous residual materials are in preparation, not yet issued; until they are, transport and destruction are carried out through permitted carriers and permitted destruction facilities. Our accreditation is ISO/IEC 17025:2017 — in progress. We are not appointed by, partnered with, or acting on behalf of any government agency. We would rather you read that here than discover it later.

Have something sitting in a warehouse?

Tell us roughly what it is, how much of it there is and where it is. We will come back with a quoted price before anything moves.
